6 Puneeth Rajkumar Movies That Stole My Heart

The re-release of Appu got me thinking: what are some of my favorite Puneeth Rajkumar movies? As Puneeth’s number one fan—yes, I will fight you for that title—I knew this would be tough. So instead of ranking them, I’ve decided to share my favorites in no particular order because, let’s be honest, I love all his films too much.

Here are my top picks:

  1. Chalisuva Modagalu – This isn’t technically a Puneeth film, but his guest appearance is so memorable that every time this film is mentioned, I immediately think of him. He is adorable while singing "Kaanadanthe Mayavadanu" and dancing—it always brings a smile to my face. If you haven’t seen this film, I highly recommend it. Just a heads-up, it deals with heavy topics like rape and marital abuse, but it’s handled so well that I’m still impressed.

  2. Veera Kannadiga – This one is solely for the music. I love those songs and have the album on constant repeat. If you don’t believe me, I’ll post my end-of-the-year Spotify stats, and I promise it will be in my top five albums.

  3. Ajay – This was the first Puneeth Rajkumar movie I ever saw, and it holds a special place in my heart. I don’t remember every single detail of the movie, but I do remember how amazing Puneeth was. I think a rewatch is definitely in order.

  4. Milana – This film made me fall in love with him. For a moment, I even wanted to pursue a career as a radio DJ just because of him. I'm such a sucker for romances where an arranged couple eventually falls in love, and this one delivered perfectly.

  5. Jackie – Need I say more? Jackie is pure fun from start to finish, with punchy dialogue, great songs, and nonstop energy. I’m envious of those who haven’t watched it yet.

  6. Gandhada Gudi – I know I said I wouldn’t rank his movies, but this isn’t a movie—it’s a documentary. We get to see him in nature, trying new experiences, and genuinely enjoying himself. It’s interlaced with footage of him and Rajkumar, and I just loved it so much.

Anyway, that’s my list of favorite Puneeth Rajkumar movies. Feel free to judge, but I'm an independent, confident woman who knows what she likes.

Do we share any favorites, or did I leave out one of your top picks? Let me know in the comments—I’d love to hear your thoughts!
