Review of Colors
Colors
"Colors" is a 7-part Kannada mini-series that is now available on Rishab Shetty's YouTube channel. The series follows Shashi, a delivery boy who is color blind. His color blindness doesn't bother him much until he meets Nayana, a salesperson at the store he delivers to, whom he secretly has a crush on. One day, she takes him to a flower market and tells him about the rich colors. The rest of the series follows their exploration of color blindness and how they grow closer.
The mini-series handles the topic of color blindness thoughtfully. It doesn't look down upon color blindness but rather explores and explains it. There's a perfect moment in the series where Nayana asks Shashi to explain color blindness, which is excellently portrayed.
The acting in this series is outstanding. Both lead actors are well-suited for their roles, and their chemistry is next level.
The cinematography in this mini-series is striking, highlighting the beauty of color, which made me realize how much I take color for granted. The use of beautiful colors in the second half of the series really stands out, beautifully portrayed. It left me with a new appreciation for color.
The music doesn't stand out much, but it's memorable and recognizable.
One thing that stood out to me was the use of Ishihara test images in the title card. These images are used to diagnose color blindness.
Overall, I really enjoyed this mini-series. It's an interesting topic with a refreshing plot, and the actors did a wonderful job portraying their roles. Although it consists of seven episodes, it went by quickly. If you have time this weekend, I would definitely recommend checking it out!
