Review of Juni

Juni

I recently watched the Kannada movie Juni on Amazon Prime Videos, and I have some thoughts . This is a romantic drama that revolves around Partha, a chef who runs an unsuccessful cafe, and Juni, an artist, fashion designer, and gym instructor. The two meet one day at Partha's cafe and quickly hit it off. They plan to meet for a date, but Juni doesn't show up. Curious about her absence, Partha visits Juni's house, where he discovers that she has multiple personality disorders. The rest of the movie follows Partha as he learns about the disorder's causes and tries to navigate his way through being in a relationship with Juni.

What I appreciated most about this movie is how it takes time to explain the disorder, making it accessible to most audiences. However, it is worth noting that the film does mention childhood SA. The director and writer have done an excellent job of portraying the disorder with the utmost respect.

In a movie about personality disorders, the actor's performance portraying the character with split personalities can make or break the film. Rishika Naik, who plays Juni with three personalities, does an outstanding job of going from one personality to another while keeping them consistent. The rest of the cast is also charismatic, and Sudarani, in particular, stands out.

Dispite this movie being about such a serious topic, there are many funny moment that add lightness to this movie. Everytime the cafe staff show up you know you are about to get a cute and funny moment.

If you're looking for a love story that is out of the ordinary, this one is worth checking out.
