Review of Funny Story by Emily Henry

Heartbreak is such a shitty thing to go through, and there are so many phases: the disbelief, the anger, the crying, the bargaining, and the wondering what you could have done anything better. And then eventually the pain dulls and you start to see a path forward. And it's usually around that phase when I'm ready to devour all the Romcoms I can and attempt to believe in love again. That's where a book like "Funny Story" by Emily Henry comes in handy.

This book follows Daphne and Miles, both of whom are jilted by their significant others. To add insult to injury, these are the same people who claimed they were just best friends. Have I caught your attention yet? Wait, it gets better! Daphne and Miles decide to enter into a fake relationship to get back at their exes.

I know what you're thinking: "Oh great, another fake relationship book." However, what really sets this story apart is the witty banter between Miles and Daphne. I don't often read comedic books, but I found myself laughing out loud at their exchanges—something I don’t usually do while reading. Perhaps I just need to explore more comedies!

Additionally, the chemistry between these two characters is absolutely amazing, and we get to witness their growth throughout the story.

If you need a fun read this weekend that will make you believe in love again and give you a good laugh, I have a tiny warning: this book is a tad bit spicy. So if all that sounds good, I highly recommend this book.
